School Closure Notice
Tuesday 21 April, 2026
Kia ora koutou,
Due to the current severe weather conditions, the school will be closed today.
The school grounds experienced surface flooding overnight, and significant further rainfall is forecast throughout the day, with conditions expected to worsen. In addition, several staff and whānau reside in red zone areas, making it difficult and unsafe for them to attend school.
This decision has been made in line with advice from the Wellington Regional Emergency Management Office, prioritising the safety of all students, staff, and whānau.
Thank you for your understanding. Please take care and stay safe.
Ngā mihi
Anau
Kia ora tatou,
As you may be aware, current weather conditions are severe, with much of the Wellington region under a red weather warning. Strong winds and heavy rainfall are forecast to continue through to late Tuesday evening.
Should the red warning extend to include Porirua overnight, the school will be closed tomorrow.
If the alert level remains at orange, the school will open only if it is deemed safe to do so following a morning safety assessment.
A further update will be communicated at approximately 7:15am tomorrow morning, or earlier if there are any significant changes.
Please stay safe.
